The Four Hair Loss Treatments
Each treatment suits a different stage and type of hair loss. Many patients combine more than one. Follow any option below for the full details, candidacy and procedure.
FUE Hair Transplant
Individual follicles moved from a donor area to thinning regions, with fully-shaved, partially-shaved and no-shave options. For established, stable thinning with a good donor area.
FUE hair transplant →Regenera Activa Micrografts
A minimally invasive treatment using the scalp's own regenerative cells to support existing follicles. Suited to early or moderate thinning.
Regenera Activa →Low-Level Laser Therapy
Focused light energy used to support hair growth, often alongside medical therapy. An option for those not yet considering surgery.
Laser therapy →Regenerative Hair Booster
A serum-and-microneedling system targeting the dermal papilla to support scalp health and hair growth. Used alone or to complement other treatments.
Regenerative booster →How the Treatments Compare
A high-level comparison to help you see where each fits. Suitability is always decided at consultation; this is a general guide, not a recommendation.
| Treatment | Best suited to | Type | Downtime |
|---|---|---|---|
| FUE Transplant | Established, stable thinning with a good donor area | Surgical, one-time | 3 days–3 weeks |
| Regenera Activa | Early to moderate thinning, non-surgical preference | In-clinic session | Minimal |
| Laser Therapy (LLLT) | Early thinning, or as a complement to other treatments | Ongoing sessions | None |
| Regenerative Booster | Support for scalp health and hair growth | Ongoing sessions | None |
How the Right Treatment Is Chosen
Treatment begins with a diagnosis. A scalp assessment and, where relevant, a review of medical history establish what's driving the hair loss, so the plan is matched to the cause rather than the appearance alone. Dr Tan is one of the few doctors approved by the Singapore Medical Council to perform both FUE and FUT, which allows the assessment to consider surgical and non-surgical routes together.
- A scalp examination to look at the pattern and condition of the hair.
- A review of medical history and contributing factors where relevant.
- A discussion of suitable options, which may be one treatment or a combination.
What Results Are Realistic
Results vary by individual and by cause. Non-surgical treatments generally support and maintain existing hair and may need repeating; a transplant relocates hair that continues to grow in its new position. A consultation is where realistic expectations for a specific case are discussed.
