The Problem

Laser hair removal was introduced with the intent to provide permanent results minus the pain and poor aesthetics. However, the number of sessions needed can stack up the price, leaving most to shy away from it. Furthermore, other types of lasers are not as inclusive in that they are limited to work on certain skin types.

The Treatment
The 2 in 1 Alexandrite + Nd:YAG Hair Removal Laser makes hair removal safe for those with dark skin complexions (Skin Types IV-VI), while the Alexandrite laser is suitable for lighter skin types (Skin Types I-III). In this treatment, laser energy is delivered through a small handpiece that will be operated by the practitioner.
The laser delivers an intense light beam that the skin absorbs and converts into heat. The heat created is absorbed by the target cells (hair) and damages it, while the surrounding tissue (skin) remains unaffected. The skin may be slightly red immediately following the procedure, but this will last for a few minutes to several hours after the treatment
The Results
The 2 in 1 Alexandrite + Nd:YAG Hair Removal Laser is FDA cleared and CE marked for its ability to treat the widest range of skin types and hair colors. However, it is expected that every area will react differently. Some can be challenging, while some may respond easily requiring fewer sessions. Usually, we can expect 80% hair loss in 3 sessions.

2. HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE NEEDED?
For most of the areas, around 4-6 treatments are necessary to achieve the desired hair clearance.
3. IS THIS TREATMENT PAINFUL?
The treatment provides you with a choice of skin cooling options which include the chilled air technology, Air Cooling Compatible (ACC) handpiece, and the integrated and patented Dynamic Cooling Device™ (DCD). It prepares the skin for treatment by spraying the surface with a cooling burst of cryogen
within milliseconds before and after the laser pulse. This ensures that treatments are as comfortable as they are effective
4. HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR THIS TREATMENT?
You must avoid sun exposure for at least 2 weeks before treatment. Do not pluck, wax, or bleach 4-6
weeks before and after treatment. Wait for tanned skin to fade before you begin treatment.
5. HOW LONG WILL THIS TREATMENT TAKE?
Treatment time may vary depending on the specific needs of each patient. Hair growth is reduced with each treatment. The number of treatments required will be based on your hair color and type, skin tone, and body area. With customizable spot sizes (from1.5mm to 24mm) that are anatomically appropriate,
the work can be done efficiently, even with multiple sites to target. The 20,22, and 24 mm spot sizes are currently the largest in the market allowing shortened treatment times and improved patient comfort.
6. WHAT CAN BE EXPECTED DURING TREATMENT?
There will be redness and swelling around each hair follicle. Some patients may even have symptoms like that of hives. It is also expected that lighter hairs may not respond quite as well.
7. WHAT ARE THE POST-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS SHOULD I REMEMBER?
To reduce discomfort and swelling, a cool compress can be applied on the area. Aloe Vera and topical corticosteroids can also help soothe the area and improve redness and swelling. Patients must also stay away from the sun since the area can be sensitive after treatment and it may cause hyperpigmentation (skin darkening). You can protect it using a sunscreen with SPF30.
